Chris Kyle was a Navy SEAL, who was the U.S. military's deadliest sniper and wrote the best-selling book, American Sniper, was killed Saturday in a double murder in shooting Erath County, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

Late Saturday, Lancaster police said it was a man, they say matched the description of a gunman tried to massacre his arrest. After a short chase, officers arrested 25-year Eddie Ray Routh, said Lt. Kelly Hooten, a department spokesman.
Kyle was a charity event for the range of Rough Creek Lodge and Resort is the name of his Dallas-based security Craft International, Hudson said Hartson, a childhood friend of Kyle.

International Development Law Enforcement training is often organized events on the site, which is near Glen Rose, about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

The researchers said Routh, a former Marine who sources believed to suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome, and Kyle shot the second victim point-blank range. No information was available about the second victim late Saturday.
