Grammys
Awards aired Sunday night's Grammy Awards are sometimes set the stage for what happens in the national telecast. This year, the Black Keys have the momentum rolling by taking a hand in three early prizes including a rock album, "El Camino" and the rock song "Lonely Boy".
In a broader sense, since the imposition of the ceremony in 2004, paid tribute to the vast majority of musicians who are not prime-time TV, the recording Academy uses the pre-sale event for the exercise of unspoken goal: to let the world know that the 70 categories are not included in the televised - usually classical, jazz, musical and technical regional awards - also matters.
The ceremony at the beginning of this year, another step toward that goal, moving for the first time across the street from Staples Center and the Nokia Theatre. All winners will be announced on stage the award presenters Janis Ian, Jimmy Jam, Kaskade, Britt Nicole, Manuel Valera and Radmilla Cody. Winners also the opportunity to deliver their acceptance speech and the thousands of spectators show host: actor, comedian and Grammy nominee David Alan Grier.
